NL MVP Voters know their Quad
It is mid January, and you find yourself bummed that the team you were hoping to root for all season long on your Television won’t be there now that baseball has followed the NFL and is going steady with Direct TV. Well, I guess there is always MLB.TV
There is plenty of time before pitchers and catcher report to Arizona and Florida, so in the meantime how do you fill your time.
With the upcoming baseball season, you are probably trying to figure out which player will be the offensive force to build your fantasy team around. Well, going over the Quad leaders from last year, it was Ryan Howard capturing the crown over Albert Pujols. I guess the MVP voters got it right. Though, Pujols and Howard both grabbed the top spot in two of the four categories.
UPDATE: Chase Utley, who had two appearances in Quad voting (fourth in NL in times on base, and fifth in total bases) just signed a long term deal with Philadelphia. Pat Gillick has done a good job in putting this team together that seems ready compete for NL East crown in 2007. In Utley, you are talking about one of the best young players who is dialed in with baseball on mind 24X7. Now with Soriano finally officially listed as an outfielder, the best second baseman in the NL is without a doubt Chase Utley.
