More Than Just the Bill James Handbook
I first came across Bill James work in the early 1990’s while perusing the Sports section of the local bookstore in Gainesville, Florida. At the time it seemed interesting to me, but this was a time when the sabermetrics was not fully endorsed in the baseball community as it is today. Not each team hiring their own “Bill James” stats guru. I know for sure the Rays have James Click on the payroll. Click came from Baseball Prospectus, who with their yearly annual seem to have taken the place of Bill James Baseball Abstracts .
For the past two years, I have purchased the Bill James Baseball Handbook. The pure rotisserie enthusiasts won’t enjoy this yearly handbook, as much as the sabermetrics crowd will. I did notice in the back this year that if you email
